Alan Herbert Onyango is one of Kenya’s most recognisable voices in inclusive media and disability rights. A person with albinism, he is a prime-time TV host at Signs TV Kenya, CEO and founder of Black Albinism Kenya, and an inclusive communications consultant whose work spans journalism, advocacy, and behaviour change communications.
Alan has reported on disability at the Global Disability Summit, spoken at universities across Africa and the United States, and participated in the inaugural PAMOJA Critical Minerals Alliance Continental Strategy Planning Workshop in Harare as a formal representative of persons with disabilities.
Through Black Albinism Kenya, Alan has built frameworks for inclusive employment, challenged harmful media portrayals of albinism, and created spaces where persons with albinism can define their own narrative.
